Getting a business “name”/license so I can buy wholesale, howdo I do this ?

My brother wants to get a business license in Oregon , I don’t know if there are different levels of licenses, but he wants to be able to buy wholesale, like he is propagating plants and seeds and wants to buy containers wholesale and such. I told him I would ask for him,he doesn’t have access to puter. Please be specific if you know. Because the main goal is for tax right off and buy wholesale on the business issue. He is about $500 short a month to pay his small budget as he get not enough retirement money, but is glad to have what he has, just has to do something to earn more and he has health issues so can’t get a regular job.

I don’t know what state you are in, but at the very least you need a state re-sale license. Get it from your local tax collectors office. You will probably need an occupational license too.

You will get a tax number and a coupon book that you have to fill in every month you are in business, detailing how much sales tax YOU have collected on merchandise you have sold. Even if you do not sell anything you must submit the form with zeros. Well thats Florida anyhow
